Multiply each semester's SGPA by that semester's credits, add the products, and divide by the total credits across the semesters you are including.
A semester with more credits should count for more. Weighting by credits gives each subject its real share of the total.
It leaves semesters 1 and 2 out of the CGPA, which is how this page models lateral-entry students. That rule is not yet verified against the regulation, so confirm it with your college before relying on it.

It uses the formula in the VTU Regulations 2022, so the result should be very close to your grade card. Small rounding differences are possible, because VTU works from every course while this calculator uses the SGPAs you enter. Compare it with your official result before you rely on it.
It follows the 2022 scheme. The formula matches clause 22OB 6.6 of the VTU Regulations 2022: each semester's SGPA times its credits, summed, divided by the total credits. VTU reports SGPA and CGPA to two decimal places on grade cards.
