What it is
The classic IT backbone role: you manage servers, user accounts, routers, switches, firewalls, backups and access. Every hospital, college, bank branch and factory needs someone who owns this — including in tier-2 cities.
What you actually do all day
- 1Install, patch and monitor Windows / Linux servers
- 2Manage Active Directory, VPNs and firewalls
- 3Configure switches, routers and Wi-Fi networks
- 4Run backups and restore them when something dies

Reality check: Lowest starting pay here, but the easiest entry point and a clean path into cloud.
Good fit if: You like being the dependable person who fixes things others cannot.
Your first step
Set up a home lab: a Linux server, a VM or two, a firewall rule set — and break and fix it deliberately.
